Final Presentation - Dec.-2024 UW Masters Landscape

 Engage diverse communities to celebrate the surviving indigenous Ancient Forest in Schmitz Preserve Park.

 Foster recognition, celebration and enhancement of the environmental, historic and cultural assets of the Forest, Park, Creek and Cove and the connection to the community.

 Facilitate community participation and support for preservation, restoration and enhancement endeavors.

 Be a foresightful, resourceful, cooperative interface and catalyst with the Duwamish, Muckleshoot and Salish tribes, and with Seattle Parks, Seattle Public Utilities and other public forums and entities.

 Promote restoration of aquatic life by reconnecting the creek to Puget Sound/Salish Sea along with buffer plantings for stream health.

 Facilitate collaborative efforts for future vision, fundraising, restoration/improvement projects, volunteer and educational programs.
